Plagron Cocos Brix
These dehydrated blocks are made from buffered coco fibres treated with calcium nitrate. Simply soak for 30 minutes to create a clean, stable natural substrate.
Once hydrated, each block will make up to 7L of reusable coir. It has a high water retention capacity, meaning your plants will stay adequately fed for longer.
Versatile
Use alone or mix with soil! There’s no end of uses to this growing medium.
Coco is celebrated for its aeration properties, as well as its ability to retain nutrient solution. With the correct balance of nutrients and a supplement such as a Cal-Mag, you’re well on your way to optimal uptake and high yields.
The cocos substrate is also reusable as a soil improver. It’s known to lighten dense, clay-heavy soils, making it easier for roots to spread and take in nutrients. It also reduces the risk of waterlogging in these kinds of environments.
For light, sandy soils, it does the opposite - it helps it better retain water to keep plants evenly fed and limit excess drainage.
Easy to store
These dry, lightweight blocks are a great way to have fresh substrate on hand whenever you need it. They’ll easily store in your shed or hydroponic grow room until you’re ready to use. There’s none of the mess or leftovers of regular bagged coco coir.
Each brick makes 7L of substrate. This makes them perfect for smaller, less frequent growers - or just those who need a top-up.

How to use Plagron Cocos Brix?
Soak 1 piece of Cocos Brix in 4L (1.05 gallons) of water. Regularly squeeze the brick to encourage absorption.
After 20-30 minutes, you will have approximately 7L (1.85 gallons) of ready-to-use coco substrate.
Add your nutrient solution each time you water and ensure the pH is at 5.5 before using on your plants.
You can reuse the coco substrate as a soil improver within 6 months of use.
