🎙️3️⃣  Session 03 — Plagron Focus — The May 2026 Growers Forum

The third session of The Growers Forum proved to be another highly productive and positive discussion, with strong engagement from retailers across the industry.

This session focused on the new Plagron RRP structure, with the Plagron team joining us directly to talk through the changes, explain the reasoning behind them, and answer questions from retailers.

What Was Discussed

The session centred around the introduction of Plagron’s updated pricing structure and the wider conversations around pricing stability and sustainable retail margins.

The discussion focused on several key areas:

• The new Plagron RRP structure
• Why the pricing adjustments have been introduced
• Retailer concerns around pricing consistency
• Market stability and long-term margin protection

The discussion generated excellent engagement throughout, with retailers raising valuable questions and sharing their own experiences from across the market.

There was clear interest in how stronger pricing visibility and more consistent market behaviour could positively impact both retailers and brands over time.

The session also highlighted the importance of open communication between suppliers, distributors, and retailers when significant pricing changes are introduced into the market.

Positive Industry Engagement

One of the strongest takeaways from the session was the level of constructive participation from everyone involved.

The conversation remained open, balanced, and solution-focused throughout, with retailers and suppliers both contributing valuable perspectives around the current state of the industry.

As with previous sessions, the aim was not simply to highlight challenges, but to encourage more realistic conversations around what long-term improvement could look like.

Overall, it was one of the most rewarding Growers Forum sessions to date and another positive step towards creating a healthier and more sustainable retail environment.
